Summer is in full swing here in Philadelphia! Our local pools are filled with families, our beer gardens are filled with friends and food trucks, and our summer itinerary is filled with a ton of fun activities to do! Whether you’re a long-time resident or visiting Philly for the summer, we’re highlighting 5 of our favorite things to do in the city:

  1. Shop at a Local Farmers Market
  2. Discover a New Restaurant for Happy Hour
  3. Spend the day at The Oval XP
  4. Take a Mural Tour Around the City
  5. Attend a Concert at The Mann Center in Fairmount Park

Shop at a Local Farmers Market

Enjoy fresh seasonal vegetables and produce all while supporting local farms and vendors. Almost every day, you can find a local farmers market to attend! Shop your everyday essentials like broccoli, celery, carrots, peppers, and more. Various farmers markets throughout the city have a rotating list of vendors and unique pop-ups from breweries, coffee shops, and bakeries to name a few.

Discover a New Restaurant for Happy Hour

Outdoor happy hour is a must in the summer. Whether you’re looking for rooftop vibes or views of the Delaware River Waterfront, there’s a restaurant and bar for everyone to enjoy. Make a new summer tradition with your friends and family and venture out to a different restaurant every week. Happy hour is the best way to sip and savor a little bit of everything from a restaurant. Breweries and beer gardens are a great place to visit in the summer as many of them offer small bites or a line-up of food trucks to choose from.

Grab your friends and get ready for some happy hour fun! We’ve put together a guide to the best outdoor happy hour spots you need to check out in Philly.

There’s no better way to spend the summer than on the lawn in Fairmount Park. The Mann is one of the country’s largest non-profit open-air music centers. Every week you can expect to see performances from local and national artists like Phish, Josh Groban, and Leon Bridges. Families are welcome to visit The Mann and watch a live concert series of their favorite movies like Harry Potter and Star Wars. We suggest arriving early to secure your seat and grab a bite and drink before the show.
