Outdoor Happy Hours in Philly

May 24, 2022

As the days go by, the temperature gets warmer and the days get sunnier. We can’t help but get excited about all the outdoor events and activities happening in Philly this summer. The best way to spend the day is outside with friends and family, and a cocktail or two. To celebrate, we’re sharing some of our favorite outdoor happy hours in the city below!

Philadelphia Independence Beer Garden

With over 20,000 square feet of drinking, eating, and entertainment space, the Philadelphia Independence Beer Garden is one of our favorite places to hit up for happy hour. This all-American beer garden overlooks the Liberty Bell and the Independence National Historic Park.

Enjoy over 40+ rotating local and domestic tap beers, craft cocktails, and delicious food while sitting under a lush, open garden. Happy hour bites include fried pickles, chicken wings, quesadillas, and more. Other than beer, there’s a variety of hard seltzers, cocktails, and wine to choose from. Spend happy hour chatting with friends or playing a friendly game of corn hole.

The beer garden is closed on Monday and Tuesday with happy hour available the rest of the week from 3-7pm. View the happy hour menu here. Please note, that this garden is not dog-friendly.

La Chinesca

You can’t have happy hour without margaritas. La Chinesca is a restaurant infused with Mexican and Chinese-inspired cuisine located in the Spring Arts neighborhood. La Chinesca is vibrant, fun, and a little old-school. Fun fact: the restaurant was once an old Jiffy Lube!

The happy hour menu consists of delicious cocktails, wine, and beer. Sip on a classic margarita, spiked pomegranate lemonade, or Tecate while relaxing on the patio. Enjoy small bites from the kitchen like chicharrones, fried wonton chips with salsa, and ceviche. La Chinesca has multiple patio locations and is dog-friendly! Happy Hour is available Monday-Friday and Sunday from 5-7 pm. Learn more about the menu and get directions here.

Enjoy live music from local artists and DJs, 30+ rotating draft beers, and freshly made bar snacks like flatbreads, sandwiches, wings, and more.

Morgan’s Pier is dog-friendly. Dogs are especially welcome to visit during their Yappy Hour events. Reservations are recommended as they tend to fill up pretty quickly. Learn more about upcoming events and live performances here.

Come for the happy hour, stay for the pasta. Take a trip to Italy during your visit to Osteria. This well-known Italian restaurant is a fan favorite here in Philadelphia. Since 2007, Osteria has been serving authentic family-style meals and craft cocktails.

Fans of the refreshing Aperol Spritz will love Osteria. They have a variety of spritz-inspired cocktails on the happy hour menu like the Rossa Spritz and Bianco Spritz. Happy Hour plates include grilled octopus, Creekstone beef carpaccio, and Bucatini cacio e pepe. Happy hour is available 7 days a week (Monday-Thursday 5-7, Friday & Saturday 4-7, and Sunday 4-6).
